The common epoxy resin potting compound ratio is generally 4:1 or 5:1. The main additives include fillers such as aluminum hydroxide, silica, and quartz sand. At room temperature, it has a relatively high viscosity and poor fluidity, and will precipitate and stratify when left to stand. The curing agent is a light yellow liquid with excellent fluidity, almost the same as water. Commonly used curing agents include amine curing agents and anhydride curing agents. Anhydride curing agents will crystallize when in contact with moisture in the air.

 

For this type of epoxy resin potting compound, the following points should be noted when choosing a potting machine:

 

First, the main agent material tank should be equipped with a stirring anti-sedimentation function, and the main agent should also have an automatic circulation reflux anti-sedimentation function.

 

Second, the main agent material tank and pipelines are equipped with heating and insulation functions. Heating reduces the viscosity of the main agent.

 

Thirdly, the main agent metering pump should be a wear-resistant screw pump. The gears inside a conventional gear pump will be worn out by the packing in no time.

 

Fourth, the material tank should be sealed and stored. It is best for the exhaust valve of the curing agent material tank to be equipped with an air drying and filtering device.

 

Fifth, based on the products to be potting, production volume and cost budget, choose a handheld semi-automatic potting machine, a fully automatic potting machine with a three-axis dispensing platform or an online fully automatic potting production line.

 

Sixth, under normal circumstances, the equipment needs to be equipped with a vacuum pump for vacuum deaeration. If the potting product does not have high requirements for bubbles and the bubbles are naturally discharged after curing at room temperature, a vacuum pump may not be necessary. If the product has high requirements for bubbles, in addition to vacuum degassing of raw materials, the product also needs to be potting under vacuum conditions. In such cases, a vacuum potting machine or an online vacuum potting machine with two potting and one extraction should be selected.
